Quick Start Guide

Follow this quick-start to go from “first login” to your first validated commission view: connect data, create a plan, assign it, and review results.

What you’ll do

  • Connect your CRM/billing integrations.
  • Validate Customers, Deals, and Team Members in the Data Hub.
  • Review a commission dashboard and drill into a deal calculation.
  • Fix common “waiting” issues before close (managers).

Prerequisites

  • You have manager access in your org.
  • You have access to your CRM/billing systems (or someone on your team does).
  • You have at least one commission plan document (PDF) ready to upload.

1) Connect your systems

  1. Open the Settings menu (top-right) → Integrations in the app.
  2. In the Connect tab, connect the systems your org uses (CRM, invoicing/billing, file sources).
  3. If multiple systems can provide the same object type, review:
    • Configuration (data flow rules)
    • Integration Priority (which source “wins”)
    • Logs (sync issues and retries)

2) Upload commission plans

  1. Open Commission → Plans Library.
  2. Upload plan files using Upload Plans (drag-and-drop) or Paste from clipboard.
    • Supported formats include PDF, DOCX, and MD.
    • Leave Review enabled if you want Core8 to run an AI review pass on the extracted data.
  3. Use the Imports tab to monitor processing and handle any failures.

3) Assign plans to your team

  1. Open Commission → Plan Assignment.
  2. Find a team member and assign their active plan(s).
  3. Use bulk selection when you need to assign the same plan(s) across multiple users.

4) Review commissions (rep view vs manager view)

  • Sales reps start on their personal Commission dashboard.
  • Managers typically use See All on the Commission dashboard to review across the team.

From the dashboard, click a deal name to open the deal details page.

Common pitfalls

  • If data looks incomplete, start in Data Hub (Deals/Customers/Team Members) before debugging plans.
  • If a deal is Waiting, check Eligibility Gates to see which input is missing.
  • If you changed inputs and nothing moved, trigger a recalculation from Commission Status.
